I do check out Musts journal alot too, thx for the tips big dog.
No, I wouldn't. Most of your ME lifts are triceps heavy to begin with. So even with the backing off and hitting a little volume work with them, it'll take a lot out of you. Typically, if you're going for the rep work, try sticking with an triceps iso instead of another compound.

Cool thx Horse, i'll probs stick with the high intensity stuff on tris on DE day for a while since I just started it!!.BUT I'll switch when things dry up a little to some rep work as suggested.Sound like a plan? Good looking out Bud.

DE Bench Day

Went with doubled yellow bands today and things went well, my speed dropped off on the last 2 sets right at the top of the movement (my weakness!) Moved to close grip floorpress with a 3 board. These smoked my tris as they put the bar right smack on my weakpoint in bench.I really hope this movement helps LOL.I supersetted the last 2 sets with some tri rolling extensions.Finished with chins, I dont know why they dont help much with benching, I'll probs switch to another type of row.

DE Bench Day 18/10/08

Bench @45%+Doubled Yellows 45kg 10x2
CG Floor 3board 5x4 80kg
Tri Rolls 2x12 10kg
Chins 4x6 BW+5kg

ME Squat Day

Went with GMs off pins today, I must say what a humbling experience that was LOL.I set the barbell at waist height and off I went,I got to 80kg and damn near shit my pants trying to get it up LOl.A very hard exercise to do.I will keep them in for a while tho, I think it illustrates how weak my back is for deadlifting, I think its might be whats holding me back from a 400lb pull.Moved to deadlifts next and did about 5 singles at 60%, speed was good.I worked up to a pretty tough 150kg on the bar but thats not surprising after all the heavy GMs.I did some GHRs and abs to finish.

ME Squat Day 21/10/08
GMs off Pins 1x3 80kg 1x2 90kg 1x2 80kg
Deadlift @ 60% 5x1 95kg,1x1140kg, 150kg
GHRs BW 4x7 (hands behind head)
Abs 4sets

Waist height is pretty darn low for those GM's. I take it it was rounded back. Now I personally would never do rounded back GM's..I know that it's a WSB thing...but for the FIRST few times I'd really recommend starting a bit higher being that you used it for doubles.

As for as the deadlifts..i don't deadlift with a rounded back so, forgetting all the other very good reasons not to do rounded back, it makes no sense to me how a rounded back GM is going to help a non rounded deadlift. LOS.

Working at cross purposes trying to develop mobility in the hips while promoting it in the lumbar instead. Unless you plan on just forgetting everything you've learned and doing all "powerlfiting" style exercises.

Yeah I was thinking I might take them up just a bit higher, they werent awfully rounded tho, I tried soooo hard to stay arched.I'll see if I got the vid I took, I may have taped over it.

As for the doubles,my plan was to hit a really hard set of 5, but I grossly overestimated my strength on them badly.I went to 90kg thinking I should probably get 3 with it but it just wasnt gonna happen!!

What do you mean by this E? I was just hitting them cos I know (well I think I know ) that my back strength might be holding me back from a bigger squat and pull) Not cos Louie or Tate think I should be doing them.LOL

he means that rounded back gm's would probably only transfer over to rounded back deadlifts.....and well...who rounded back deadlifts.....that would be cross purposes

The only time I rounded back deadlift is when my form gives... and then I'm sooooooore after that for quite a while. Seems like an injury waiting to happen.

Oh yeah, Hits, I was going to ask: Are you doing a 3 day set up? If so, what is the general layout? I'm lookin to switch to a 3 day WS program more "by the book." I'm getting a little over worked doing all this 4 day heavy stuff.
