Gender: | Okay guys, bad news. My rotator cuff is slightly fucked. Overhead presses are out and so is heavy pressing and pulling. Which kinda sucks dick, alot of dick. SO, basically DFHT for the time being is a no go. I'll probably be out for the rest of the month maybe a bit longer. So now I need a new plan of attack. Here's what I'm planning on doing: -Since heavy pressing and pulling are out, I only have a few options -HST since its as light as I can go while still gaining mass (very light shoulder work in terms of weights) with heavy heavy core work. -If I can't do HST because of my shoulder then I will do strictly core. I'll be using the HST layout similar to what I used in my HST journal. I know I'm going to lose alot of strength by staying out of the gym, I might as well be in the gym and gain some mass and work on strength later. I'm including the heavy core work so that I'll be ready for my next shit kicking during DF 5x5 or DFHT. Kind of like turning a frown upside down Long Term: -HST with Heavy Core -After bullshit shoulder heals, DF 5x5 to get my strength back to 'man' status -DFHT Questions, concerns, comments? |

Gender: | That sucks man, nothing worst than an injury. Shoulders in my opion are one of the worst (right sentinal) they effect so much of the workout. The good thing is that you can still workout, just not as heavy. Hopefully it dosn't take long... R U going to get treatment ? I might be joining you. I thought my rotator was fucked as well (back from 5x5) then I thought it was better. Then it got bad again from doing heavy presses. So I found out it's my AC joint. I'm being treated and it shouldn't take long to get back....mornings are the worst (tight as fuck). I'm getting ultra sound done (helps with inflamation) and electro shock (helps with pain).also band exercises. Hopefully it doesn't take long. |

Gender: | I'm gonna stick it out for a bit and see how it gets. If it gets worse or doesn't get better after a bit of time then I'll get it treated. Being a student I have no money and need beer, so treatment will only drain my beer fund I did an HST workout today and the only time I felt discomfort was in the shoulder presses. Other than that I should be good for a run of HST. The worse part is that I didn't fuck it up during a workout. I kinda just woke up one day and it was fucked. I definitely didn't sleep on it or something gay like that ![]() |

Gender: | I had physio for a torn quad last year and insurance covered most of the physio. I ended up paying 15 dollars for a 35 dollar session. But I had over 10 sessions. If I played a varsity sport it would be free I remember looking into it before and for some reason OHIP wasn't an option. which is fucking gay. |

| Moderator Rank: Light Heavyweight Experience: 7-10 Years | x 2 Kane, don't waste your time if you cannot go 100% balls to the wall. At least the doctor can figure out what is going on, and give you a half assed timetable. And doctor's always overshoot the healing process, so you know you could cut the time in half. Also make sure you complain about pain. Reward yourself with some Vicodin. ![]() |

Like the others said a correct diagnosis is very important. Shoulder problems don't tend to go away on their on. And if you insist on thinking it is some kind of acute injury, once it gets better you are likely to go back and fuck it up all over again. But make no bones about it. It's not like you're an old man with deteriorating joints. It didn't just happen. It was things that you did. | |

Gender: | ^^What I should have said was that I couldn't recall a definite moment or action that caused the injury On a more positive note I'll be seeing the doctor asap about this. I was planning on seeing him anyway because of all your advice, but recent events have sped up my decision. Here's why: *Warning this is a drinking story, not for the faint of heart* So me and some buddies head to the bar last night, its kind of like coyote ugly, lots of girls dancing while guys stand around and get shittered. We show up, drunk of course, and the bar is dead. So we start ordering shots and beers and get drunkerer ( So between all the punches I threw, the Rock Bottom!, and holding onto that guy with the polish death grip (almost all done with my right/strong arm)....My shoulder is fucked. I'll be seeking medical attention asap. |
