Gender: | Sure take a day off if you feel it's necessary. I need to give you a lecture on recovery and how it plays in to this. Here you are stalling or missing weights and yet you put in "extra" heavy ass shit. Tha't ain't logical. I think you thinking about you muscles. It's what's happening systemically, both neurally and metabolically that's effecting this. That "extra" stuff can represent the straw that broke the camels back. What you did with those hang cleans is pretty significant in terms of neural resources alone. Once again, I have to say to another person, don't do it just because you can. The middle of this routine is not the time to be testing your 1 RM at the end of a heavy workout. |

Gender: | todays combine testing, now keep in mind, i was being used as a human skidsteer yesterday at work (got the day off from finals) becuase we couldn't get the bobcat around the house to the patio (ended up being 9 loads of stonedust and 7 more of pavers uphill for about 20 yards, not much fun) so if i wasn't sore id do better, but not by much. weight in: 221 standing broad jump: 6'1" , 6'4" 185lbs bench for reps: 14 short shuttle (5 yards between each cone): 5.3 seconds 40 yard sprint: 6.28 seconds 1/2 mile run: 3:32 |

Gender: | todays lift 30 minutes of basketball (it was raining and coach didn't want us hit by lightning) close grip bench: 4x6 at 190 incline: 4x6 at 145 lunges holding ball: 3x10 "speed ladder": 5 minutes (about 8-10 different plyometric-type movements) crunches while throwing medicine ball: 3x15 2 minutes of jump-rope 10 minutes of game-film (lol) hey i wanted to let everyone know coach wants my to start at left guard and defensive tackle this september. i do have one more silly question, when doing close grip bench are you still supposed to touch your chest or is 2-3 inches away acceptable? becasue ive been told by my old line coach that 2-3 inches away is fine but some guys are telling me to touch my chest on the close grip. |
