i started ghetto t bar rows last week...i just stick one end of the barbell in the corner...load the other end with weight..and for now, until my handle gets here, i am using an empty dumbbell handle under the bar...and i pull on that...i really enjoy them....alot easier for me to keep the lower back where it needs to be..

It's all good. I remember that you ordered the handle. I was curious how you had been liking the t-bar rows. I have never done them with the bar like that, personally. Let me know how it goes with the handle. I might have to try that out.

You've got some strong legs there... good job on the squats/DLs. How long you been lifting?

I guess I've been lifting seriously since September. I just progressed pretty quickly with squats and deads over the past few months...I have no idea why. The last time I did either was 5 or 6 years ago in high school and I maxed at 285 on both. I am trying to move bench so it's the first lift on Mon & Fri. I have long arms and I suck at it. My torso has become a lot thicker over the past few months and my chest is FINALLY starting to develop. I'm on a fine line between over training and growing right now, but I've had the best growth by throwing in about 2-3 sets of incline or DB press at the end of my workouts.

Deadlifts - WU, 5X3 305, 315, ---
Standing shoulder press - 5X5 135
Lat pulls
curls

obliterated my lower back...don't know what the deal was. I was a little tight, but had a longgg warmup and stretched a little. I was halfway up on the last rep of the second set, could feel the strain in my hams, back wasn't rounded...then it felt like my spine just twisted/slipped right on the ruptured disc (L5,S1). I just can't really walk or stand or sit very much. Icing it now, so maybe I won't be out of the game for too long. Rest of the workout sucked...shoulder press was painful. I did light curls and lat pulls...just concentrated on form. Deep, slow reps with a hold/squeeze at the bottom. I don't think I'll be doing squats or deads for a while. Maybe leg press...we'll see Friday.
