At my school they have like a machine set up with that safety squat thing, worse way to squat IMO SOOOO awkward.

That's why you use it! Powerlifting is about bringing up your weaknesses. Using awkward equipment such as the safety bar, cambered squat bar, or a Texas Power Bar forces you to use your muscles in different ways making you stronger all around. Other than those actual bars, there's chains and bands improving the top half of your squat. Lots of different combinations that will really provide great power.

Could someone who knows the olympic lift variations compare some of the videos here:

Joe Skopec Powerlifting

To the ones at the site I posted above. (Dave maybe?). From what I know the ones I posted are better but I've never done the olympic stuff so....

I'd like to try power cleans particularly I think.

I've been really itching to start some power cleans! Probably from watching Rocky do them in the movie.

I could see myself including them for a deadlift variation on my ME SQUAT/DEADLIFT day..
