Default Changing grips

What does everyone think about changing grips when benching on the de day. Grips would be 17, 26, 32 measured from the index fingers.

When box squating would it be ok to use a bench instead of a box.

Thanks

Absolutely MUST change grips, every 3 sets.

RAW Benchers: 3 Close, 3 Regular, 3 Wide grip.
- Close grip I use my pointer finger on smooth part of bar (2" away from rings)
- Regular grip is pinkey's on the rings
- Wide grip is ring finger on the rings.

SHIRTED benchers: 3 different grips all within the rings according to a Dave Tate article.

Box squats shouldn't be on the bench IMO. In most cases, it's too high. You would probably be better suited with a few aerobic steps OR the risers that usually go underneath the steppers. I use 4 risers + 45 pound plate for low box squats (3-4" below parallel), and 6 risers + 45 pound plate for DE box squats (slightly below parallel). By risers, I mean the hard plastic square shaped pieces that normally fit underneath the aerobic steps to keep them stable. Good pic of the risers here
