if you want upperbody strength ofcourse the basic exercises (bench press,squat,deadlifts) will do a much better job of improving strength then any machine will. So you are definately better off...

pullups,dumbell rows,deadlifts,and stuff like...

pullups,dumbell rows,deadlifts,and stuff like barbell/dumbell shrugs will do the trick for your upper back. but deadlifts are always the best back builder

try to spread it out a bit. you dont want sore...

try to spread it out a bit. you dont want sore triceps before working your chest. this is more of an ideal split for optimum growth

monday-quads/lower back
tuesday-shoulders/traps
wed-off...

well with me, my biceps respond really well to training. if your looking for that peak in ur biceps try dumbell preacher curls,incline curls,and barbell curls. that should get your biceps growing in...
