Default What new features do you guys want to see?

Alright guys I finally have a little bit of spare time again and was wondering what new features you would like to see on the forum?

Feel free to throw out some ideas, here is what I have been kicking around...

New Forums:
- Weightloss/Fatloss Forum ..just a more targeted forum for this as I feel there are enough posts to support it.
- Fitness Equipment Forum - For you home gym freaks.
- XXX Forum - Its been mentioned before, but I think a way of limiting access to members with only a certain number of posts would prevent alot of useless crap.

Forum "Bucks":
- This would be a system where you are giving forum dollars for each post, referral, new thread, etc. Each type would award the users different amount of forum dollars. These forum dollars can then be used in our forum store to buy features like "glowing usernames", "supplement testing opportunities", "access to private forums", and so forth. I was also kicking around the idea of purchasing gift certificates to popular online supplement stores in which you could cash in your forum dollars for these certs. For the actual certificates or goods the price would be high of course. There would also be a system in place to prevent abuse. I figure little features like this is a good way to reward active members on the forum.

Feel free to give me some feedback on what I posted and to give me some ideas of what you would like to see. For more advanced features it will take a while but I always get around to it eventually.

please no xxx forum. I like this forum because it's clean and I think if you added that it would add more spammers.

The first two are sound good and I really like the Idea of weightloss forum.

I like the weightloss/fatloss forum idea, and the home gym thing (so i can tell everyone how bad the bowflex is lol) I'm against the XXX forum though cuz I just think its kind of weird, if you want porn go to a porno forum not a bodybuilding one lol. As far as the forum bucks thing, Im not to sure about the whole idea, sounds like a good thing though.

I would hesitate to put a dedicated XXX forum up. That would attract alot of b.s. that i'm sure you dont want to deal with.

I would like to see a ladies forum, maybe that would attract some women here.

The forum bucks sounds like a good idea, i've never seen anything like that before.l

I think out of all of them, a fat loss forum and the forum bux sounds great. Fat loss would be an extremely popular forum I'm sure that would attract a lot of "guests" seeking to lose a few pounds. I'll nominate Hrdgain to head up that forum! That's all he likes to do! LOL

For the forum bucks, maybe it can be structured more like elitefitness with their use of Karma. A lot of people might tend to post a lot of useless posts or threads in the off topic section to accumulate credits. I think it would be better to use Karma, or something that other members give you for helping out versus just making a thread or post. This would be a better fit for this forum IMO because I don't think someone should get any credit for a post saying, "Eat more food" to someone in dire need of help.

For example, if Anuj creates a post asking for help with something, like his upcoming Pendulum Training, and say I give him a link to a spreadsheet I made especially for P.T. (and I'll pray he doesn't cut and paste it to bb.com!) then Anuj as well as whoever else can give some credits (or Karma, bucks, whatever) to that post/member. Does that make sense? Maybe there can be a limit per each post of how much credit someone can attain for a safeguard.

The XXX forum I don't like neither. I just don't think I could handle looking at naked chicks all night sitting here all by myself for a 12 hour night shift Plus, if it really peaked curiousity, new members would most likely postwhore in the off topic section.

I like the Karma idea. as long as it is also not abused. Maybe have a limit on how many one can get in a period of time.

i dont like the xxx forum idea... the rest are all cool...

somehow, i am not very inclined on the rep/karma idea.....

lets be honest here.. most of the time the people who post here are regulars... a few new memebers have joined who i've noticed have started posting very sensible posts (like stonewarrior).... but essentially, this site is full of people who come to READ all the info and not necessarily make any posts... therefore, the total number of ACTIVE members is less than 20....

the point i'm trying to make is that this karma idea isnt so great because this isnt bb.com where there are 100000 posts starting with "critique my program" which would help members here to gain karma hits.... plus, right now, whenever a member asks for help, everyone volunteers info... for example, jagsfan05 thread...... the reason why the karma hit idea would be there is to provide an incentive to the members here to help out...but we already help out with the absence of any karma/rep incentives..... which is why i am not in favour of that idea... see, right now, we're all helping each other because we want to.. and thats why most of the suggestions arent lame... but, lets say you DID introduce the karma system, then i (as a member) would want to help out not because of my nice nature, but because i want karma hits....perhaps this new approach to answring threads might reduce the quality of my answers....

i dont know, i still dont like the idea of a karma hit-thing......if there were 250000 members, and most of them want new routines, etc, then having this sytem would be of use so that the rest of the members will be able to distinguish between us (in the sense of "the regulars") and others....

sorry to make this long, but i just thought i'd chip in....

oh, and 0311... i am making a post asking for that splreadsheet thanks for bringing it up....

I would most certainly do that. I could even make stickies for different diet set ups and routines ... yeaaahahhhhh. Although I must say i'd be just as interested in heading up the womens forum j/k
