What would be the best time to take a BCAA drink. Before, during, after or all ?

Edit- I should have put this in the BCAA drink thread. Sorry -

Before or during. I prefer before.

Anuj, I like your attitude toward supps man. I cant tell you how many idiots (including myself in the past) will just go blindly into using something they havent researched.

Hey you know I totally missed Kane's post (only saw Hrdgain's) but what he was saying was a good point. Exactly the kind of thing I was thinking. People have to remember that any of these single aminos, even the essential ones are not like popping an aspirin. Where you take one sometimes or 2 or 3 for your really tough headaches.

You look at the bcaa profile in whey if you're taking that preworkout. Whey provides you with useful protein for muscle repair and protein synthesis after your workout in and of itself. You could look at all kinds of different whey products and see a 2 or 3 gram overall difference in bcaa's. You have to ask yourself if adding 2 or 3 grams supplemental is going to have some effect past what you already get from the whey. The answer is NO. Hell, you can't even guarantee complete absorption. Aminos themselves are not little magic bullets that perform miracles. Most of the time (prob not all the time) if you want a supraphysiological effect you have to take a suprapysiological dose.

ha I had no choice, i was stocky from birth. Better to be bulky then fat.

It cracks me up, i was reading something the other day about action hero's. In the past you had guys like Arnold, Stalone, Lundgren, ect. Who do we have today, Matt Damon? Ben whoflack? Come on.

oh by the way anuj, your thread just got hyjacked b.

How about on off days ? Would it be a waist to take the BCAA's , if we're eating proper and getting are protein in ?
