Branch Chain Amino Acids

TALO's Sig:"But when do you actually grow? Well, we don't grow in the gym. In the gym, we destroy. We tear down the body. We only grow when we are recovering. That's right, I said recovery. I see it all the time--people beating themselves up in the gym and not seeing results. They don't understand that hitting the weights hard is only a small part of growing or even cutting down. I could train the same all year round and get big or get ripped just by eating different and taking different supplements"

How many mgs per tablet(?) is it, anuj?

NM, the suggested serving is 4 isn't it? Maybe you meant one serving before each session. IMO, you'd need even more than that to net a significant training effect. I know you want to conserve them but with just one you may as well not be taking any at all, especially considering the whey you use before.

^^ Good point Eric. During the summer when I did DFHT I was using BCAA's in the capsule form and it said take 4tabs daily...which was maybe 2,1, and 1 grams of the 3 BCAAs. My shakes were giving me more than that just between pre and post! Basically I'm agreeing with Eric, probably not enough and not worth taking. I superdosed BCAA's and thats the only time I could notice any kind of effect from them, maybe you could experienmnt with that.

No they will not hurt you. yes, you will still be natural.

Anuj, your taking in BCAA's everytime you take a sip of your protien shake. Dont worry so much, and super dose those bitches if you have enough.

Really they're just amino acids. Widely available in food and abundant in your whey as Hardgain said. They're hasn't been any reported side-effects and you can bet that a lot of people are taking super mega doses....cuz that's what people do.

To my knowledge the only side-effects are in the realm of potential side effects. Purely conjecture. I've only heard of one study using a large amount, 60 grams. It caused alterations in blood levels of trytophan, phenylalanine and tyrosine(?). The theory is this could casue depression in certain individuals.

Let me repeat that dose. SIXTY GRAMS. That's about 48 of your capsules. I'm just saying to take at least 4 to 7 if you want them to be of benefit to you. But believe me, bro, I am very cautious and I would never recommend anything I thought would hurt you. Hell, I don't even really recommend you spend money of BCAA's. But since they were free you might as well get the most out of them.
