Default Creatine Pills...

Alright so i'm gonna be going to Mexico next week and all i can really take are my protein bars, multi vitamins and fish oil because i want to limit what i take with me. I need some info fast on what type of creatine pill i should use. Does it break down and have the same effect like powder creatine, more advantages or disadvantages and so on. Check these out and let me know which one should i get,

How about using hot water? or will that make the creatien less effective?

add a little more water and chug that creatine at the bottom down, thats the easiest way to do it.

Pill wise i'd use these

Don't use hot water. Creatine will not dissolve is water anyway. It will disperse or mix but not dissolve. The trick is to use plenty of liquid and chug it right away. If you wait it will settle to the bottom but you shouldn't have any particular problem getting it mixed. Like hrdgain said use more water and chug it, don't mess around. BTW, you can mix in the creatine with a whey protein/carb mixture and the taste will not be noticeable. And CM is quite pleasant compared to CEE I'll bet.

If you have such a big drink that you can't chug it all before it settles then you could make a smaller one with the creatine and follow it up with more liquid. If you can't do that and settling is a problem then you'll have to do what hrdgain suggested.

I actually spoon my creatine into my mouth and then wash it down, which some say may not be as effective, but I don't have problem with it as far as bloating or discomfort.

first off eric wow your a monster haha just thinking about putting a spoon full of creatine in my mouth and wash it down makes me cringe... but anyways i thought if you use more then the suggested water it'll dilude (how ever you spell it) your creatine and make it less effictive?

Really? May I ask what brand you use? To tell the truth creatine mono (we are talking about mono, right?) is fairly neutral in taste. I have to wonder if it tastes THAT bad.

As far as diliting it that's exactly what you want in a way. You need lots of water with creatine. For one thing it brings water with it into the muscle. For another, your can think of it as something that sucks up water. If you don't take enougth water with it it will bring in water from the gut plus it will just set in your stomach. All of which leads to cramps and bloating.

The trick is, if you use it for pre-workout to take in enough liquid to be adequate but not so much that your stomach is full of water and that make you uncomfortable. And remember with mono you need some type of carrier like glucose....you need to take in high GI carbs with it for it to work but even just whey protein will work to a certain extent. I do both of course because that is all part of my pre and post shakes.

I know eric covered this, sorta, but adding in extra water mono will not dilute it, as long as it all gets in your gut, the effects will be the same.

mono by itself doesnt have much taste, I used to spoon in my mouth and wash it down with gaterade, its kinda chalky but other then that its not bad.

Yeah, lot's of people do. Kinda makes me wonder about whatever he's using. It's not exactly pleasant taking it just in plain water but it's not so bad. Spooning it into your mouth actually has less of a taste....

Not that I'm advocating the spooning. Creatine in general is tasty compared to some of the horrible concoctions I've downed

BTW, as far as "pills" go, CAPSULES should be fine but I would reccomend in general against TABLETS.

You're supposed to take alot of fluids when your on creatine anyway. I usually do the "Eric Method" of spooning that some-bitch in and washing it down. I use about 350ml of water (that's on top of whatever drink I use as my 'mono transporter', usually a box of grape juice).

I've found that the more fluids you get in with that shot of creatine, the less chance you have for discomfort (bloating, cramping etc).

BTW, the bottle of creatine pills is the same size as a 500g bottle of monohydrate so they wont take up any less or more space in your suitcase, and the pills are about 15 bucks more money (from the ones I've seen anyway). Plus the pills don't give you nearly as many servings as the powder will.

I actually want to make clear as to why I spoon it in. Because if you don't need to it's probably better to disperse it in liquid.

I make a large pre-workout shake that is comprised of my protein and carbs. I drink half of it at once before my workout (15 minutes or so) and then I sip the rest throughout my workout. So I spoon it in out of sheer convenience with the first half of my shake to wash it down. Because if I mixed it in the shake it would would be settling to the bottom as I worked out and sipped it. Plus I want to get all the creatine in at once and not a little at a time. So besides that this simply stops me from having to mix something separate for my creatine or to have to constantly stir my shake while I'm sipping it.

BTW, I jump up and down a lot after I wash down the creatine...
