Default dumb question about creatine and muscle milk

can you take creatine and muscle milk together? i dont have time to eat like i should and while i am eating more, it still isn't enough. i was thinking about useing muscle milk for breakfeast but will it work together with the creatine to allow me to bulk up?
i am slow on all this and a little overwhelmed with all the choices, so when in doubt i say ask.

There is no reason that you can't take the two together that I can see.

However, you will most likely want to take the creatine with a source of simple carbohydrates to ensure that you get the optimal creatine absorption. Take the creatine with a fruit juice which contains simple carbs (like grape juice) or a water mixture containing dextrose or maltodextrin to make sure you get the full benefits. It really shouldn't be that hard to pound down an extra glass of water or juice if your dedicated to achieving your goals.

You also might want to look into getting creatine ethyl ester (CEE) as you don't need to take it with simple carbs. Watch out for the sour taste though.

Darkhorse's Sig:My Training Philosophy

how big would you be if ALL you did was:

Squat 400 x 20
Deadlift 500 x 5
Bench 315 x 5, or dip with 100 lbs added.
Chin with 75 lbs strapped to your waist x 5
Miltary Press 225 x 8

Pretty ****ing big is my guess. Without any "rear delt work".

i just started taking cell-tech advanced formula which contains dextrose and alpha lipoic acid. i take 2 scoops to 12 oz of water and drink another 12 oz of water after that. once in the morning when i get up and another after i work out ( or within an hour after a workout).
so far the only difference i have noticed is my belly feeling bloated. is this normal or should i change the way i am taking it or the time i take it?
would it work better mixing it with fruitopia? even tho i think that would taste pretty rank with the cell tech being fruit punch flavored.
that question came to mind after reading the thread 0311 posted. i didnt really feel any difference in my muscle other than my belly muscle which felt and looked more like a hard pot-belly.
thanks for the replys and yeah i am dedicated to my goals enough to say i am lost and ask for directions LOL.

If you are taking Cell-Tech then you don't need to worry about taking it with any other form of simple carbs like dextrose or fruit juices. That is already contained in the 75 grams of carbs per serving.

Feeling bloated with creatine is not abnormal when first begin taking it, but a major cause of this is probally the fact that you are taking in 24 oz of water in one sitting. Also the simple carbs of dextrose can make you feel bloated and make your stomach upsetwhen you first begin taking it. It took me a while to get use to that much sugar at once. I don't understand why you are taking an extra glass of water after that but its your choice. I just think thats alot of liquid.

Also give the creatine time to show up in your muscle size and strength gains. Just like anything else it won't happen overnight.

the extra glass of water is on the directions so i thought it best to follow that. it says to help enhance absorption.

Okay, never used Cell-Tech so I didn't know that was suggested. I still think its alot of water so you could try not taking that second glass and see if it helps.

Also not all creatines are created the same, if you finish the Cell-Tech and still have stomach problems or didn't like the results, you can always switch brands or even types of creatine. Alot of people have indegistion problems with different brands of creatine. A good place to start is to check out reviews of different brands at places like BulkNutrition which also has good prices.

Dextrose plus bloating is a pretty common experience. Dextrose is a water binder. It binds water in the stomach, so it stays there longer, and can take water from the intestines and blood. This leads to that bloating and even cramping and diarhea for some people.

I don't know why Cell-Tech recommends an additional glass of water. Maybe it's to provide water so its not robbed from the intestines.

But I agree with Sleazy that it seems like all that water will only enhance the bloating. Many people just can't handle all that dextrose, though.

try using CEE--creatine esther ethyl. no transport mechanism needed and it has a better absorbsion rate (thus you need less).
