Default L-Arginine bad for me?

i just read in mens health the taking L-Arginine before your workout can reduce growth hormone production by 50% compared to those who did not take any of the supplement. I checked and it is in my whey protien and in my amino complex that i take. is this true? and if so does anyone know of any whey protein that doesnt have the supplement? thanks in advanced.

Here's the Article. (online, I didn't read the mag so it might be different...)

TALO's Sig:"But when do you actually grow? Well, we don't grow in the gym. In the gym, we destroy. We tear down the body. We only grow when we are recovering. That's right, I said recovery. I see it all the time--people beating themselves up in the gym and not seeing results. They don't understand that hitting the weights hard is only a small part of growing or even cutting down. I could train the same all year round and get big or get ripped just by eating different and taking different supplements"

That's about heart attack patients.

I'm guessing that there is not much to the "growth hormone" thing. First of all it was originally touted to INCREASE growth hormone, like some other single aminos when they came on the market. You'll find lots of articles claiming that it stimulates growth hormone release. Second such a dramatic affect would probably require supraphysical levels. Keep in mind that studies like that usual use huge amounts of stuff compared to what would normally be found in a whey supplement, even provided extra amounts of the amino are added. But who knows?

Default that is not the right article

here i will cite the article.

this is from the December 2006 issue, page 58.

"You may want to avoid supplements that contain L-Arginine. Syracuse University researcher's recently found that the amino acid deminishes the normal post exercise release of growth hormones, which signal your body to build muscle and burn fat. When men in the study popped an L-Arginine capsule before pumping iron, their growth hormone production fell 50% compared to when they hit the weights without the pill."

You have to look at the actual study. Anytime you see an article mentioning a study you can't be sure of anything unless you see it for yourself. If there is any credibility to that artice there should be a citation at the bottom. If so list that instead.

Especially since I've seen "studies" stating the exact opposite. I mean ONE capsule?
