Protein for obvious reasons...
Dextrose/Maltodextrin for glycogen repletion and transporting said creatine...
..And I'll agree with food.
Edit: Deleted my creatine statement!

PWO = post work out.
IMO the most effective way to increase the effectiveness of your workouts are to implement proper pre and post workout nutrition.
