| Hey everyone. I am new to the site and need some help. I am 40yrs old and lifting heavier than ever, but I have a sore elbow or lower portion of my bicep. What do you suggest to help with recovery and soreness? It really only hurts for curls and flexing my forearm left to right? I use NO2 and creatine and glutamin now. |

There is an article on joint supplements, although, not comprehensive, and and article on anti-inflammatories (N-Saids) in the injuries sticky. In general, although supplements probably won't hurt and may help, don't rely on them to heal you. A lot of people will write about them being what you need but it's up to you to make sure you help your body heal in the proper way. It sounds like you just have a strain and supplements may help with the healing process but they won't circumvent any natural processes. As far as anti-inflamms they have not been shown to speed up recovery despite there being prescribed for this so all you can really expect is a reduction in pain. Anelgesics would do that just as well, probably. However, pain is there for a reason so I wouldn't load up on pain relief medication and mask the pain so much you lift too much too early and continue straining the joint or tendon.
