Yes. This was a one time ... Ok I bought it twice,.. decision. I now buy the bulk powders instead of the jacked up price stuff. I was naive.

We've all done that dave, no worries. Have you seen similar results with the bulk powder?

yeah it's about the same. Maybe not the same taste, but what can ya do. It was CEE, CM, L-Carnitine, and Beta-alanyl-L-histidine (Carnosine). One difference it is did seem to take longer to kick in. Octane I could feel after 10-15 mins. the mix seem to take a little longer but only by like 10 mins. So I just adjusted. Also, if anyone is wondering, the amount I used for the stack was about the same as what is one the label of Octane. I used it as a reference for my recipe.

I don't think I would bother with anything having the extra histidine. I don't think it's really a limiting factor and it's put in there because histidine is part of the carnosine recipe. But histidine is used in all sorts of protein synthesis throughout the body whereas alanine is not so what you mostly get is amino competition with is. I would concentrate my funds on just getting more of the beta-alanine as this is what has been shown to increase the levels of carnosine.

Next time around I'll have to try the Beta-alanine w/o the histidine and see if I notice anything different.

It should work just as well. Beta-alanine is the "rate limiting substrate" for carnosine. Whereas, histidine, simply is not. The literature I've seen indicates that infusion on histidine has no effect of carnosine synthesis. I don't know of course....

^^ just to confirm I've also read this eric. L-histidine is so abundant in the body already that there really is no need to suppliment with it.

So basically when you get both in a supplement you are just getting less of the beta-alanine which is what you need the most of.

It can be manufactured by the body in the adults, btw. Plus the amounts found in all the common protein foods.
