Gender: | Hey guys i've been browsing this forum and discover that i really am a newbie and need your advice. I'm 21, 5"10, 166lbs. I've been taking martial arts for a few years, and do a fair bit of running; I believe i am pretty fit. However, I have never tried bulking up until 3 weeks ago. 3 weeks ago i started a new diet + supplement intake to try to build muscle mass but keep myself as lean as possible. Supplement Intake:- *** Workout day *** Morning: Cell tech Creatine; Nitro tech Hardcore; Hydroxicut Hardcore. Pre-Workout: Hydroxicut Hardcore; Gakic. Post-Workout: Anator P70 + GNC Glutamine; Nitro tech Hardcore; Before sleep: Nitro tech Hardcore; GNC Amino acids. *** Non-Workout Day *** Morning: Cell Tech; Nitro tech Hardcore; Hydroxicut Hardcore. Noon: Nitro tech Hardcore; Hydroxicut Hardcore, Before Bed: Nitro tech Hardcore; GNC Amino Acids. Including the supplement intake calories + food calories i try not to exceed more than 2500 calories per day. I was 162lbs before starting this and gained a slow 4 lbs since i've started. I'm tired of reading bb magazines and not gaining big/fast results. I've noticed some upper body definition but i've started to grow a nasty gut. I'm cutting out the Cell-tech because of the high amount of dextrose starting tomorrow. Is there any other supplements/changes to my diet i can do to get the results i want? Money is not an issue. Thank you and please save the flaming for my wallet. Seth. |

| Rank: Member Experience: 3-5 Years | I guess i should have read your full post lol. My bad. But as its always said "food" is your best supplement. Just get the basics man: Creatine Protein Malto/dextrose As far as bulking goes I would up the calories by figuring out using a calc. exactly how many calories you need to Maintain/lose and gain weight, then go from there. Seems like you have alot of cardio type exercises going on. How often are these done? So basically your trying to bulk while possibly preserving if not losing body fat? |

Gender: | I have figured it out and i should consume around 2000 cal. for weight loss. I have little to no cardio exercises going on in the gym however i do a lot of stretching at home every day. When i do cardio it's no more than 10 minutes of sprinting/jogging intervals after i workout. I'm very tempted to up my cardio levels to lose the gut but then again i don't want to lose any mass too. And yes on the bulk/lower body fat. |

| Rank: Member Experience: 1-2 Years | ^I wouldn't say creatine is a necessity for lifting. Protein should top that list. Man, it sounds like you're breaking the bank when you don't need to -I know you said money isn't an issue but still. Supplements are nice, but they're the auxiliary stuff, not the meat and potatoes of the regimen. You want to rely on real foods as much as possible, and your diet of supplements alone is probably more complicated than my diet of foods. So, with that in mind, what does your food diet look like? If you're serious about building muscle mass, don't empty your wallet on the fat burners and don't worry about keeping it to >2500 cals a day. You're a beginner, you said, so I'd just focus on getting big; if you're lean right now, and it sounds like you are, you're hardly going to balloon up overnight with a little more protein and a few sets of squats. To really see the results you're looking for, supplements alone aren't the primary thing, food and the right routine are. I know you've posted this in the supplement forum but the key info you should supply here is your workout regimen - days, sets, lifts, etc. - as well as the diet of real foods that you're taking in. |

Gender: | I switched to a 6day workout i found up from bb.com and stopped the creatine 4 days ago. Will be stopping the gakic as soon as i finish the bottle since the workout is relatively easy. I'm finding it hard to even break 2500cal, i'm so used to eating under 2000cal but i am trying. Right now i'm at 167.5lbs, i'm still gaining but i'm kind of over my building gut because it's winter. On a side note, is there any supplements that will make me stop flatulating? Or at least tone down the degree of smell? It's pretty bad.. Actually it's really bad. |
