Default True Newbie to Supplements

Hey everyone,

Right now I am 6ft 3 and 186 pounds looking to get to 225. I just posted on the Nutrition forum for some help, and I wanted to know what else I should take in order to get to my goal. Right now I have:

GNC Men's Sport Multivitamins
GNC 100% Whey Protein
GNC Creadrive

What else should I take in order to get to my desired goal? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

GNC makes a decent multivitamin. Their creatine is okay...lots of people take 10gr of monohydrate compared to the 5gr in Creadrive. The protein isn't a very pure form. You're only getting 20 grams per serving also. I'm getting 50gr per serving from what I'm taking right now. It will work though. Don't buy from GNC any more. Get better, cheaper stuff from nutraplanet.com or bulknutrition.com or trueprotein.com after your supplies run out. Because you're just starting out, you'll see great gains. What you bought will be sufficient. You can supplement with more stuff if you want, but I personally wouldn't until I started to slow down. Good luck.

yeah it is a good vitamin, but as far as their other products go....not so good in my opinion; just b/c of the prices. I would just get the 10lb bag of ON's whey and buy some creatine mono and mix it with apple juice.

On grams of protein per serving (whey) around 23 to 24 grams is a decent one (meaning one standard scoop).

If someone (Ross ) is getting 50 grams of protein in a serving that is because they have upped the "serving" amount. There is not a powdered protein in existance that can deliver 50 grams in a typical serving, which is that contained in a typical plastic scoop. GNC just in general has a bad record on all their sups...to the point where they have gotten in trouble for not meeting label amounts.

Yeah, I'm taking Pro-NOS by MRI. I got it on sale for really cheap...it has 42 grams of protein per serving. One serving = two scoops. I mix it with 12oz of milk, so that's about 8-10 more grams of protein. And I sometimes mix in some of my other protein powders that taste awful just so I can get rid of them. Now that I think about it, most protein powders do call for one scoop per serving, which would make a "typical" serving one scoop. Good call Eric...you're pretty good at being right all of the time.

Maybe I should sell a powdered protein in a tub that has 50gr of protein per scoop/serving...and put a little shovel inside. I know it would sell.
