I take it you are asking about amino acid supplements. The answer then is NO you do not need them.

Amino acids are the individual building blocks of protein. Protein is what you need plenty of. Most recommend 1.5 to 2 grams per pound of body weight. Read the stickies and search the site for "protein" for more answers.

Individual amino acids and other supplements can have their use but they are worthless if not combined with a solid diet of real food (and proper training of course). I would advise not to worry about supplements at all until you've researched and nailed down your diet. After that individual aminos will hardly be the first thing you should be taking.

That is not to say that there are not certain supplements you can start using to benefit right away, just that at this time if you place your emphasis on them rather than developing a diet you will be shooting yourself in the foot. And by the same token you can take supplement out of the picture and still have great success if your diet is good. But not VICE-VERSA.
