Androsteindione or more commonly known as andro is a natural hormone found in humans that is synthesized from scotch pine trees. In the body andro is converted to testosterone; the main hormone associated with muscle size and growth. Supplementing with andro will increase your own bodies level of androsteindione and therefore will also increase your bodies level of testosterone. Increasing the level of your testosterone will help you increase your muscle size and strength along with improving athletic performance. Andro is banned by the IOC and other sports organization because of its safety and effectiveness of the supplement. Supplementing with andro can effect your own production of androsteindione and or testosterone. If this happens there are side effects that can occur. When taken correctly most users achieve good results with little or no side effects. The common dosage is 50 to 100mg in the morning or about an hour before you workout.

Thats what i found in a simple google search. From the name i figured it was steroid related...well it is. Meaning yes, its "illegal".
