You can definitely get that big, even bigger in time. I know of guys that have weighed about 100-120, and now weigh in the 250-lb range!

To answer your question, you're really going to have to eat well, and to get about 1 gram of protein per lb of weight. For you, that'd be about 100 grams. That, and you should do compound exercises. And sleep enough-about 8 hours, or more, if you can.

One thing you neglected to mention was your age. This may play a big part in it. My brother was 5'9" and weighed 120 at 17 years old. He went through a growth spurt and at 22 was 6'3" and weighed over 200. Before anything else you may want to look into your problem with eating. Is it a lack of available things you enjoy eating or a more deep seeded problem? Many of the things I eat day in and day out I don't necessarily enjoy, and I do get asked why I eat them if I don't like them. My answer to this is always, it's not about what you enjoy eating but more about whether what you eat benifits you physically or not. An example of this would be carrots. I personally don't like carrots at all but I eat them every day anyway.

I'm sorry if I beat around the bush with the answer to your question but I would address your lack of interest in eating first. It's absolutely essential to your growth and may in fact be why you're having a problem putting on weight in the first place.

If you just don't like to eat a lot, or get full quickly, try eating foods higher in calories, until you get used to eating more. It feels like your stomach expands as you eat more and more. So, you will be able to eat more.

Before i started working out i couldn't eat much either but once i started working out 3-4 times a week i would be physically exauhsted meaning i would need and wanted to eat something otherwise i would feel tired and fatigued. I managed to gain 15 lbs in 3 months eating between 500-1000 calories extra a day.

Thanx John for the help!
Eating a lot of protien is injurious to the kidneys and then liver.
BUT if people like me have really benefitted from it,i'll definetely take the risk.Is anyone as skinny as me around in the forum? kindly let me know so that i try to communicate with him.
any thing else besides PROTIEN? should it be a famous whey protein?

Thank you Ice
You have pointed out some real, solid issues.I tend to eat less what I dont feel like to eat.My age is 35.I don't feel like to eat what is good for putting on like Butter, bread.I mostly take shakes like banana or mango shakes.I've tested nutritional powder shakes for few days but it did'nt help me to put on..this is really amazing...why ppl don't put on even with regular food quantity. My doctor has givin me a clearance,I've not been to any nutritionist..let me know if their is anything else you would like to know.Perhaps my Doc.is missing something on the medical side.

Pity is absolutely right....

I would start by evaluating what you eat now. Figure out things you can eat that will benifit you in your goal to gain size. It doesn't matter if you like them or not. If you hate them, eat them first and leave what you like to eat for later in the meal. I would find a protien shake that you enjoy drinking. Actually, you really don't have to enjoy it, just get it down. Anyone who has been around for any length of time remembers the crappy shakes that were around in the 70's and 80's. Some of them were absolutely horrible. And they don't have to be expensive either. There are many sites where you can buy protien in bulk for much cheaper than the name brands. There are actually threads here that you can search to find the names of those suppliers. But keep in mind that it doesn't have to cost you hundreds of dollars each month to put on size. Many of the things you might not like eating could be the key to your gaining weight.

As for your doctor. You should remember that most doctors know very little when it comes to bodybuilding or even nutrition in general. And as I've stated before, many still have food charts on their wall from the 1970's. Your best sources are going to be the internet. This site, Anabolic Review and many others will help. Another thing I would mention is, if there is a gym in your area and you can afford it, join up. Most have small monthly fees. Look around first and find one that you like. Ask people questions. It's amazing how helpful some of the biggest guys in the gym can be. Most of them don't mind helping someone out when asked. And those that don't aren't worth knowing anyway. Check back here often. Do searches on what questions you have first and by all means, when you can't find it, ask. As I've also stated before, there are several guys here that really know their stuff, you'll figure out who they are fairly quick. All of them are nice guys when asked for advice in the right way.. Good luck and if you have anymore questions just ask.

You are great Ice! thanx for ideas..the only problem with protein shake in the past was an eleveted levels of Urea,a by product of protien metabolism,in my blood...i was using whey protien at that time.Elevated urea for long can be injurious to kidney and liver.Secondly, a research has shown that we dont need a lot of protein to get BIG but a liitle more than the usuall..so i was wondering how may i solely rely on protien for putting on??
