BG's CEE-Pro review

This is the first post of my review of CEE-Pro. I've been taking it as directed since July 18--one week now.

I'll be honest. I am going into this as a skeptic. Not skeptical that this product won't work, but that it will be any great improvement over what I was doing before. Here are my reasons:

1) Creatine is creatine. I could see if someone started taking this who was not already supplementing w. creatine making hitherto unseen gains. We almost all did when we started taking creatine. CEE is just a different form of creatine.

2) This product is supposed to get the creatine to the muscles in a more efficient manner than others. How do we know this? Since many, if not all of us, have been supplementing with creatine, our muscles probably are saturated already. How can we tell if the creatine is getting to the muscles quicker? There is no guage for that.

3) Unless we are in a rigorously controlled environment, any gains (or losses) can be attributed to almost anything, let alone the new creatine. Maybe we are getting laid more (yeah right, BG)...or maybe we just got a raise at work...or the White Sox are widening their lead int he AL Central...or it hasn't rained much the past few weeks...The point is, unless in a controlled environment, any results are purely anecdotal, and quite honestly, suspect.

to be continued...

Here is where I'm at:

I've been seriously lifting again since about the beginning of May. My diet leaves much to be desired. I have made good (but not great) gains in the past 2 months. My supplementation had been CEE powder (from BulkNutrition), on occasion MetRx Amped before workout, and Whey protein. Now it will be CEE-Pro and either ON 100% Whey or Nitrean protein from AtLarge Nutrition.

So far, I like powdered form better for two reasons: cost and I can better monitor my dosage. The pills are convenient, though, because if I'm away from home after the workout I can still take it. Plus the dosage is uniform.

I'm not going to do a day-to-day journal on my CEE-Pro experience. Nor even a week-to-week review. As I said above, I'm skeptical that this will be a breakthrough product for me--I just can't picture this being a much better creatine than what I was already taking. We are reviewing an iteration of a product, not an entirely new supplement.

In a few weeks, I will give my final impression of CEE-Pro. It will be honest and forthright. And despite the tone in this and the other posts, I am going into this with an open mind...but not with my head in the clouds.

Just to check in mid-way: I'm not seeing anything different than before. But I am not having the dry-mouth problem some of the other people are having. Maybe it's 'cause I drink so much water anyway. (Drinking H20 is a habit I picked up in college. The water fountain in my hall sophomore year had the coldest water I ever tasted. I always had a 32 oz cup whilst I was studying or playing games or whatever. That habit carried on to my adult life. It is rare that I don't have a glass of water w/in arms reach.

That said, the pill form is okay. I really don't have a preference either way, since I really don't micromanage the creatine amount. I usually fill up a 1 tsp scoop 3/4 of the way foll of CEE (1/4 tsp = 400mg CEE, therefore 3/4 is 1.2g; twice a day and it's almost 2.5g of CEE which is plenty)

One more week (or so) to go...

Today was one month. Still have some pills left, but the trial was supposed to be for a month. Review will be forthcoming Saturday or Sunday. It's too late tonite, and tomorrow I have a day off--school is done, day off in the gym--and I plan on gettin' drunk. Thus the review will be handed down this weekend...

My final review will be in a new thread.
