creatine mono..

been on it for like a year i think...and was wondering...am i missing out on anything by only taking it on workout days? i usually just take it before and after workout...and not on days i don't workout...because, i either forget...or don't have anything that i want to mix it with :)

I'm pretty sure you should take it even on non workout days. Thats why I like creatine ethyl ester better. It's more concentrated, no loading required and you don't have to take it on workout days, even though I do. It's a little more $ than monohydrate, but I don't get the bloating and stomach ache from all the sugar and with all the water I have to consume.

I would recommend taking it on non-workout days as well. I have had better results when on creatine using it that way. Tried both and I know while it is more expensive and you want to stretch your supply as much as possible I think you will do better taking it than not. Good luck. :)

Ugghh..creatine ethyl ester could not possibly be "more concentrated". If you add stuff to something that makes it "less concentrated".

There is also not loading "required" on creatine mono.

I'm with Widdoes, I think you'll do fine just taking on non-workout days ONCE you have it in your system. If you are coming from a creatine layoff then I would take it everyday for a couple weeks. Then just workout days should really be sufficient.

i took it every day for a year on workout and non workout days....just the last couple weeks...i have not cared about taking it on the off days...i suppose i could throw it in my breakfast shake. oatmeal and whey have enough sugar in it for it to work? :)

I take my CEE 30 minutes before exercise and immediately after.

I have taken both kinds and I prefer CEE. I hate being bloated especially on leg day if you know what I mean. Having gas sucks when putting weight behind it.:gay:

Pity, you're fine just taking it on workout days but if you really wanted to take it on non-workout days just taking it with a serving of whey and water will work. Plenty of water of course.

One more question, shouldn't there be a layoff at some point in time..? Is it good to take cm for a solid year. Does it become less effective if it's not cylced??? PO, cee sucks.... Just me though, more power to you if it works.. Oh yeah, and I would take it early in the morning on non-work out days, like they've already said just once on those days...

I think it's a good idea to go off everything sometimes. It shouldn't really make a difference. Basically it comes down to either having you body produce it (and some through diet0 or getting it through a supplement a little quicker. There is nothing to suggest that it permanantly effects your body's own production no matter how long you take it. But since there is all sorts of unknowns it's probably good to go off it.

As far as whether it stops working I don't know. I think there came a time for me where I simply couldn't tell anything. The fact is I've been off it for about a month, maybe more, and have yet to tell any difference. So I don't know what to say about that. I just haven't bought any more. Could be when I go back on it I'll "notice" the difference then.

^^ from my understanding it doesnt "stop working", but there is an upper limit to how effective it will be. Once your muscles have reached saturation, thats about all creatine can do for you from a performance stand point.
