Smile hi guys... I'm new need your advice please

I used to work out stricty on and off and looked fairly good, not a extremly impressive bodybuilder but ok. Since then I have not trained for a year and totally out of shape and not good! I am now 34 years old and want to get back into my training again.

I realise at 34 my test is going to be low and will not be as easy to gain muscle as before. I am looking into trying this...

http://www.hgh-pro.com/images/chartsml.jpg

It looks safe? and sounds like its perfectly ok to take as a tablet and not a liquid.. please let me know if this is going to be safe and help to speed up my training results by increasing growth.

This was me last year....

and this is me after no excercise and eating junk now!

I'm going to start my training again from TODAY! So I'll keep u updated as I get back in shape again.. should be interesting now as I am in such bad shape and to get back in good shape again. I think every 2 months I will be able to see good progress as I have done it before.

Can someone please advise me on the HGH? Has anyone else tried this and is it safe for me to take to gain muscle? I tried doing a search on here but nothing came up, so I thought I'd ask u guys. Thanks.

Well for the most part every HGH "suppliment" i've seen to date is bullshit. I would like to post a few quotes from that site ...

Quote:
There are some competitors who use the fact that the synthetic human growth hormone molecule itself is too large to be absorbed under the tongue as a chance to claim that all homeopathic HGH sprays are not effective ... The HGH molecule is indeed too large to be absorbed under the tongue, in fact, this site was either the very first, or one of the first sites to state this fact back in the 1990's, however, the HGH molecule itself does not need to be absorbed under the tongue for homeopathic HGH sprays to be effective. This is because we are able to steal the energies of the HGH molecules through the homeopathic process.

During the very involved homeopathic process the electromagnetic properties of the HGH molecules are transferred into the water molecules of the base solution and so the base solution itself becomes potentiated. This potentiated solution is then absorbed under the tongue successfully and triggers the body's own healing powers in regards to human growth hormone.
Now that sounds like some serious bullshit to me ... "electromagnetic properties of HGH" ? dude, if you want HGH, go to your doctor, tell him you want blood work done, and get a script for it. Dont waste your money on garbage like this.

Besides, even real HGH takes six months or so to show definate results, just go with the real stuff, or dont bother with it.

hrdgain81's Sig:I don't do this for my family, my friends, women, accolades, pride, or ego. I do it for me and no one else, its just part of who I am.

Hey 81, Thanks for that advice.. I can see you have been into your training a long time and your advice was more than good enough for me to stear clear. Just what I was hoping for... someone to give me straight honest advice. I'll walk away from that and train without any enhancements. I have been out of the game a long time now...and need to catch up on what is worth taking (that works and not BS).

Cheers ;)

Very well said hrdgain.

I'm continually amazed at how easily people are duped by these snake oil sales pitches. Come on man, it's the 21st century! When you see ridiculous sounding claims like in this ad that have no references or studies that back anything they say it is just that; bullshit. Why waste money on HGH "supplements" and "precursors"?

Like hrdgain said why not just spend the same money on some of the real stuff? I believe people think that they're getting the same thing but that it's safer like the adds purport. I'm afraid that anything that really works is gonna carry some risks.

Sorry Bulk, I apologize for coming down so hard, after all you did ask. Get yourself hooked up with some real HGH or better yet, how about a 12 week cycle of testosterone enanthate? That'll get you where you want to be pretty quick. Or the same amount of money will buy you a nice handful of d-bol or a-drol that should be equally interesting to you!

Iron

Iron, I like your direct and honest advice. I have always trained myself and using basic methods and nothing like these kind of suppliments before.. so I am very much a novice and inexperienced with these 'kind' of suppliments. This is why I found this forum to ask you guys that have years of experience and to help me out.

This is only my 1st day on here and I have read a lot of posts of here and found it really good to learn about the whole scene. I have only taken protein and vits before! lol.. so sorry if I sound like I am asking daft questions.

Thanks guys... really appreciate it.

btw... some of the things I have read so far included the real 'HGH' and it is mighty expensive... (more than steriods) and I now realise its quite a risk and you can grow in areas that you dont want to with it permanently... (forehead.. elbow.. feet.. and heart problems can occur etc) Like I said tho... forgive me for being so naive.. I know there are risks with all the things that actually work but there are some risks that out weigh the gains for me.

cheers for the help.

there are a lot of old folks like u who are gaining a lot doing simple programs like Mark Rippetoe's starting strength or 5x5, etc and eating correct.

now that i have said everyone who is above 34 is old, i expect to be flamed. therefore: *FLAME SUIT ON!*

Do u have a link to the Mark Rips 5x5 ? sounds cool to me.. and staying natural... I mean... I think I need to train strictly and natural again for at least 1 year before thinking about anything too heavy.

Cheere ;)

here is the write-up on the program:

actually there are 2 programs and u can choose either one:

here is the first one:
Starting Strength

THE PLAN:-

Workout A
Squats 3x5
Bench Press 3x5
Barbell Rows 3x5

Workout B
Squats 3x5
Military Press 3x5
Deadlifts 1x5 / Pull-ups 3x failure

WEEKLY PLAN:-

Week 1
Monday - Workout A
Wednesday - Workout B
Friday - Workout A

Week 2
Monday - Workout B
Wednesday - Workout A
Friday - Workout B

Week 3
same as week 1

PROGRESSION PLAN:-

you are supposed to start off around 25-30 lbs lighter than ur current 3x5 max and add 5 lbs to the bar every workout session. that means that for squats u will be adding 10 lbs a week because ur doing it thrice a week.

DISCUSSION ON PARTICULAR LIFTS:-

Squat
this has to be done ass-to-grass (just like what u have been doing) for 3 sets of 5 reps with the same wieght. u must add 5 lbs to the bar every session. if u have micro-loading increments like 1 lbs or 2 lbs then it is a good idea to use that to increase the load on a workout to workout basis.

Bench Press
i dont think i need to explian much regardign this hahah...

Barbell Rows
u have to do these with ur back parallel to the floor. here is a video link to show u what i mean: Click Here if u dont want to do JS / GP / MR rows u can also do power cleans. i have bad shoulders so i wouldnt do them, but if u want to, go ahead. the set-rep scheme for power cleans is 5x3 not 3x5.

Military Press
u have to do this with strict form. if u want, u can alternate these with push presses. if u choose to do this without any alternation with push presses u should try to use smaller increments because u have to maintain perfect form.

Deadlifts / Pull-ups
u have to do deadift for only one top work set of 5 reps and increase it by 5 lbs a session. now, on those weeks where workout B repeats itself twice, dont do deadlifts on the second session. instead, do pull-ups with ur bodyweight for 3 sets to failure. if u feel pull-ups are too difficult, then shift to chin-ups and then slowly migrate to pull-ups after a few weeks.

---x----
and the second one:
EXTENSION OF STARTING STRENGTH PROGRAM

THE PLAN:-

Week 1

Monday
Squat
Bench Press
Chin-ups

Wednesday
Front Squat
Military Press
Deadlift

Friday
Squat
Bench Press
Pull-ups

Week 2

Monday
Squat
Military Press
Chin-ups

Wednesday
Front Squat
Bench Press
Power Cleans

Friday
Squat
Military Press
Pull-ups

PROGRESSION:-

same as starting strength

SET-REP SCHEME

for front squat, squat, bench press, military press its 3x5 aka 3 sets of 5 reps with the same weight
for deadlifts its 1 top set of 5 reps aka 1x5
for power cleans its 5x3 aka 5 sets of 3 reps however if u replace with rows its 3x5 aka 3 sets of 5 reps
for pull-ups and chin-ups its 3 sets to failure

NOTES:-

it has the same principles as the starting strength protocol. IMHO, i would do the starting strength protocol for a while till u plateau and then shift to this till u plateau on this and then move onto SF 5x5.

----x----
i also advise u to buy both the books by mark rip. the links are in my signature and the books are fucking brilliant. please do urself a favour and buy them.

i hope i was of help

peace
