I am a VEGETARIAN
A bit skinny (55-60 kg.) and

my metabolism rate is pretty high so even though i eat a a lot i am just lean ,
I work out in the evening and its a pretty standard workout not intense.

OK so hears my question:

You should be shooting for one gram of protein per lb of body weight. That would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 120-130 grams of protein a day for you. Most of this protein should be coming from food, but it's ok to add a shake or two to get the needed protein in.

^ agreed, most of your protein sources should come from whole natural foods. Most cases, I only consume shakes after my workouts, other than that its chicken, tuna, red meats, or white fish. And you may want to go for the 1pound per body weight, but I've always had better success with getting 1.2-1.5 grams per body weight. That's when I noticed stronger gains.

By the sounds of things, you're similar to what I was, and trust me it's going to take a lot of eating and clean eating to get the physique you want! Just make sure you're getting the right amount of protein, carbs, and fats in your diet.
