Just got back from GNC. Bought some Mass XXX and Amplified Creatine 189
It was only $53 with my Gold Card!
I have a question. How do you go about taking the Mass XXX? It gives you a huge scooper and it says 1-2 daily. When should I take it also? The sales rep was there trying to sell me on BioRythm's Kre-Algenine saying it's the best creatine they have? |
If your trying to save money, the next time you get creatine, get the creatine monohydrate. Nothing but 100% creatine. Other brands throw in other "propitiatory blends" and throw on a high price tag. Take the creatine with apple or grape juice. (nothing acidic but something sweet) which will boost the effectiveness. Cell tech is the biggest rip, they throw in the different creatine forms and a few other vitamins and sell it for 57 regular price for only 20 servings! But if your not on a budget go for it. My $14 dollar creatine monohydrate has 102 servings.

Take a half serving of the Mass XXX in your post workout shake. You can also use it whenever you need some extra calories in the day...as a meal replacement or as an extra meal. Take the creatine every day...I don't remember what the box says exactly, but I believe the directions are okay. Like Jmoney said, creatine monohydrate works equally well.

Maybe I'm just imaging this but it seems like there has been a general turn around in the way people view sups? It seems like more and more even people I don't know are coming in with very down to earth and common sense approaches.
I expect that from Ross but honestly I sort of expect most new members to be blown away by every supplement claim out there but that doesn't seem to be the case as much anymore. If I'm not imagining this, I have to say, it is really nice to see. |

Im really curious why everyone feels regular creatine monohydrate is the best creatine on the market. There has been so much research done by many different laboratories, independent sources and many universities that have all proven it not to be. After suffering a major injury and wanting to get back into lifting I started researching every product I took in depth from amino acid stack to proteins. I strongly suggest everyone to do the same especially what ingredeints are being used---mostly fillers and sweetners. Huge eye opener especially if your buying from the big chains. Im always willing to learn more and keep an open mind as well as willing to share what Ive learned over the years.

Well.. I PubMed' it. Could only find one article that compared monohydrate to ethyl ester.
" In conclusion, when compared to creatine monohydrate, creatine ethyl ester was not as effective at increasing serum and muscle creatine levels or in improving body composition, muscle mass, strength, and power. Therefore, the improvements in these variables can most likely be attributed to the training protocol itself, rather than the supplementation regimen."
