L-Glutamine question.

Should i be taking this before or after a workout??

It says on the bottle to take it before, but i thought you use up the glutamine during the workout and you need to replenish it after.

Also should i be taking this on days when i dont lift????

I do both before and after, and sometimes during... and I also take it on non-workout days in the morning... I don't think it makes much of a difference.. at least I don't feel a difference.

Try 10 grams postworkout, then another 10 grams before bed. You'll need a lot of glutamine to reap any significant benefit.

Yeah. Post-workout is the optimum time if you have to choose one time to take it. But otherwise take as much as you can afford to, but separated into 5 to 10 gram doses.

I've heard of strengh coaches recommending up to 80 grams a day. I'm not suggesting this, but it illustrates the thinking in regards to glutamine.

Personally I do 10 grams PWO and 10 grams around dinner time (I workout in the early morning).

That would cost you an arm and a leg :)

Your not kidding. I guess people who are paying thousands for private training sessions with guys like Charles Poliquin can afford it.

The best source I found is from Primaforce. For 1 Kilo, it's $32.00...And IMO the best quality for the pricing.

I never disagreed with you.:D

But you can take more than the SUGGESTED dose. And if you're real poor and can only afford to take it once a day, then I still say post-workout is the one to choose. For twice a day after training and before bed-time, like you said. But you can take more. A lot of people add some extra to every protein shake.

In any case 10 grams at a time is almost twice the suggested dose anyway, so why are we harping on suggestions?

I get it cheaper than Primaforce. Why do you think Primaforce is the best source for the money, 311?

Darkhorse 09-26-2005 04:49 PM

I wasn't talking to you :D I just put I told you so because I originally said before bed, then when I looked up this brand, it had the suggestion in the directions.

Primaforce is one of my trusted companies. The only bad reviews were because of the smell. But, I say if it works, then they should clean the sand out of their clit and drink it. :p

A lot of people across the board recommended me to this company. A lot of the makers of this company have ties with Scivation, which has IMO the very best quality products of anyone.

If you found another brand cheaper, by all means, don't hide it from us! I'd like to check it out if it saves me a dollar or two.

BTW, I've tried their Substance WPI, ThermoRage, Lean Green, and creaform and found them all to be very good. No miracles or nothing, just good quality at a poor man's pricing. I pretty sure their whey isolate is the cheapest at $22 for 34 servings. This company is one of the best sellers over at bulk nutrition for the simple products like what I previously said.
