Default Please help me!

Dear Bodybuilding.net Community,

I have recently started going back to the gym (around a month and a half ago) and I have been using Dymatize's Super Amino Liquid 23,000mg a week in and two weeks later Apidexin because I need to lose some body weight. I've already lost a significant amount of body weight in a short time, went from 79kgs to 71kgs and my body fat is reduced to 17%.. still want to reduce some more so I'll be taking Apidexin for a while longer.

Anyway, I haven't noticed much of an improvement by using the Super amino Liquid (I drink it before and after workout). Friends of mine who use Whey Protein get much better results, so I was wondering if that's the case. Are Whey Protein supplements actually better in lean muscle gain than amino acids are (or at least the one I am using)?

The whey protein I am interested in is the 100% Whey Gold Standard by Optimum Nutrition. If it's good, should I drink it before and after workouts only? I'm getting a bodybuilding.com shaker bottle along with it because I hate using blenders. I've also heard that taking ON's BCAA pills right before the workout (along with the pre and post whey) will make a huge improvement in lean muscle gain. Is that true?

Any help is appreciated, guys. Thank you very much.

Whey > amino acids for muscle gain. The product you are looking at is good, its what I use. Look into creatine as well before you look at BCAA's. Creatine is effective...If you want to take the protein pre and post WO, you can. I only take it post WO because I take a pre WO supplement before workouts.

Whey protein will probably yield better results because it has more actual protein. look at the comparabiles on serving size you should be able to compare. That aside, the idea behind gaining lean muscle is to keep feeding your muscles. If you are not building muscle you are loosing it there is no in-between. Whey is so ideal after you work out because it can be absorbed by your body within the 35-45min anabolic window post work out. If you were taking the protein before, you could take whey but I would look at a complex or egg prtotein. Last, if trying to really burn fat take simple aminos and/or your fat loss before and whey after. then simply keep your protein consistant through the day.

I think you need both, the amino's to protect muscle mass and slower proteins to build muscle while you rest.
