Muscle milk is a crappy post workout mix. And Isopure is WAY over priced. You can get whey isolate for 1/3 the price. It's not bad stuff though. GNC's prices are typically very high, but 2lbs of GNC's whey isolate is $25 while 3lbs of isopure is $60 right now...no brainer.

i'm not a big fan of the wal-mart protein (at least the enhanced recovery blend which is all that the wal-mart near me stocks) due to the fact that it gave me some explosive bowel movements - i think a lot of the other guys are right on with suggesting trueprotein.com or ON gold standard from a bulk online retailer

I wasn't aware of that. Any info on it? I've used dymatizes lots of times and liked it. That I liked it is about all there is to say, lol, becasue I've been doing this too long to say I can tell a "difference" between one whey sup and another. About the only thing I could possilbly say is I've found some cheap concentrates to be a little heavier on the stomach.

I just got EAS basic whey sup from BJ's and I like it fine too.

My thing with trueprotein is I don't want to wait a month or more to get something, which is what it always takes. The prices are good although I don't understand how they can sell bulk proteins cheaper than the other bulk suppliers given the quality claims.

But if you want an isolate try to go bulk. It comes down to a cost-benefit thing. I don't truly believe a pure isolate is worth paying a whole lot of extra money for. So only if you can get it conveneintly from a well priced bulk supplier. I'm in the east so trueprotein isn't such a good choice for me but there are several others to look at. Orr you just have a bunch of cash buring holes in your wallet you can buy an overpriced protein like isopure or ergopharm or something.

I'm going to have to disagree with the notion, as some are saying, that whey isolate is the "best". Best for what? And even for post workout any decent whey blend is pretty damned good. Isolate is just purer. It is not THAT much faster in absorption that your going to end up gaing 10 pounds more as opposed to 5 . It's as I've said a billion times before, if your whey supplement, or any protein sup makes such a huge difference then there must be something very wrong with your diet. I mean, should you buy special steaks because you get 3 more grams of protein from them per serving for the privilege of paying 10 bucks more? Give me a break. Nobody would do that. But when it comes to sups people will do most anything.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Hey, 1quick1, I saw something about dymatize failing by what came to 3 grams less per serving. Then I saw that there are about a zillion pages of discussion on certain forums, lol. So it is claimed that it was 68% protein instead of 78% as they claimed and this was supposedly the Elite.

Their serving size listed on the container is 31 grams. As opposed to ON Gold Standard (which is what everyone touts so I'll use that) which is 32 grams. They both claim 24 grams protein per serving.

Ok based on the average price for 5 pound tubs of each I crunched the numbers for price instead of all this other gobbledygook. To make a long story short short...they both come down to about 2 cents per gram of protein even IF dymatize elite whey overshot at some time or another. And if that was an isolated incident then dymatize is giving you more. Either way sounds like dymatize is as good an option as ON and I have found the taste and the "feel" to be better.

I could be wrong but I think it was a mountain out of a mole hill (speaking of bb.com not you, 1quick1). Dymatize may be being dishonest perhaps and that sucks but supplement companies aren't the picture of honestly in general. I could point out some very dubious stuff from ON as well, for instance. And mistakes do happen.

Well see Dave, this is kind of what I'm talking about. I'm always reading people talk about their protein supplement "working". Protein is not a steroid. You are not going to drink a protein shake and "feel" it working. You are not going to get such dramatic results from one protein brand versus another that you can say that one works better. If you do think that then it is a placebo effect.

No way a protein powder gives you 50 grams of protein in a standard serving. It's impossible. It would have to be two scoops. Six Starr should be fine though. It's just that it is becoming increasingly clear to me that people don't understand what protein is and what it does and doesn't do.

Thanks to everyone for your help.

I just went to trueprotein.com and purchased 5lbs. of the whey isolate cold-filtration for my post workout drink and 5lbs. of complete milk dairy isolate for taking before going to sleep.

I made sure to use the BBNET discount code for 5% off.
