Default Trying to get in shape...need some info!

I am 5'3 & weigh 143 lbs. I have a belly (it kind of looks like a beer belly lol) that I want to turn into a 6 pack. I went to GNC & the guy told me to try Amplified Mass XXX & Creatine 189. I've been taking it since Saturday, I am worried that my stomach is going to get bigger than it is from drinking the Max! In the morning I eat 1 piece of toast & drink an 8oz glass of milk mixed with 2 scoops of the Max. Then at lunch, I drink another 8oz glass of the mix. For dinner, I just eat whatever my wife makes! For workout, I do 50 sit-ups, 1/2 mile on the treadmill & bench 3 reps of 10 at 105 lbs. I also hit/kick a heavy punching bag for around 5 minutes.

Does this sound like I am on the right track? Should I eat food with the shakes? I just don't want to get fatter...the Amplified Max XXX 16oz is 990 calories mixed with milk!

Thanks for any help!

you should eat food...and not shakes your meal planning is pretty piss poor. get lots of lean meat in there...veggies...eggs...healthy fats...whole wheat carbs....etc.

read all the stickies in the nutrition and fat loss forums...that will give you loads of info.

Ok so in your opinion, do you think by me drinking these protein shakes I am going to gain belly fat?

I just read under the nutrition section that if you are trying to cut weight you cut out 500 calories per day. The shakes are a total of 990 calories extra per day!

Thanks

Yes, get rid of the shakes or have 1 a day with only 1 scoop as 1 of your meals. You still need protein. I agree with pitty sister, your meal planning needs work. You need to eat less but still 6 times a day and small meals. This boosts your metabolism and will help keep whatever muscle you have. Sounds like your trying to get lean?

I was told the shakes have the protein & other stuff that I need in them. My arms, legs & shoulders are fine I just need to work on my stomach!

For my height, the average weight I should be is 133-143. I am at 142. So I want to get down closer to the 133.

So to do this, I should quit the shakes & eat 6 small meals per day? (I have been drinking the shakes for 4 days so far & haven't changed in weight at all.) Should I keep taking the creatine 189?

Thanks!

I want to get a six pack though, so if I lose that much weight, can I still have a six pack?

Thanks

Yes the protein has some other stuff that will help. But the shakes should be exactly what they are A SUPPLEMENT! Don't substitute shakes for food. Also if You are happy with the rest of your body. Then just hit them parts once during the week to keep them firm. But CARDIO is the only way to lose that gut. It dosen't have to be hard. Get on a treadmill for about 30-40 mins a day. Put it on a 4.0 to 5.0 incline and walk fast at about 3.5 this will get rid of that gut. You already have a six pack there it's just covered by a layer of fat. The creatine is good for muscle and strength gain. I would say take it since you bought it. But don't buy it again. Your goals are not muscle gain it sounds like.

Protein or creatine won't necessarily ad weight--but it sounds like this shake is adding a lot of calories to your daily intake.

I'm not really sure why the GNC worker tried to get you to buy a weight gainer shake if that clearly wasn't your goal. You could have gone with a weight protein supplement to increase your protein intake without all the extra calories. Just another reason I'm not a huge fan of GNC.

Thanks for all the info! I just started trying to get in better shape so I need all the info I can get lol. I've been running a mile a day on a treadmill...it takes about 18 minutes.

Next time I think I will try something different when I go into GNC! But since I already spent $100 on that stuff, I am going to take it!

Thanks
Shorty!
