just tryin to see if its a good idea for me to take creatine? im 17 and an active lifter...as of right now i just started takin protein shakes but have heard its a waste of time to take creatine and all that cuz when u go off of it u lose alot of your weight and muscle...so im not sure what to do..any ideas?

I highly recommend you supplement it. Creatine causes some water retention, making your muscles appear fuller. Once your muscles are loaded with creatine, it takes about a month before they loose that level of saturation. Going off creatine will cause your muscles to lose some water retention. However, creatine also helps your strength and endurance to lift heavier weight. Heavy weight builds muscle, so after your supplementation, you'll have gained more muscle than if you haven't taken it at all.

Plus, creatine is very cost effective. I can buy 3 months worth for about $10. Just mix 5-10 grams in grape juice after your workout. Just promise me you won't buy GNC monohydrate! Go with either optimum nutrition or prolab creatine mono.

Some people take it twice a day: 4-5g about 30-60 before workout and 4-5g after the workout. (Which is what I do)

twice a day is definatly a good idea, but if your only interested in taking it once i think it would be more benifically before your workout

Yea much better before a workout if your only taking once a day. You'll feel pumped up goin into it.
