It is rather difficult to gain muscle while dieting.

Now, it is not impossible, but for you it seems rather unlikely, since you aren't taking any supplements...especially a post workout.

A lot depends on more information. To some people, going to a center with weights and doing sit ups and curls is building their body. What are you doing? What are some of your training schedules? What are your lifts looking like weight wise? What is your height and weight? Are you a male or female?

I think you have false hopes. Supplements just fill in any small gaps in your nutrition. If you aren't making gains then you should adjust your diet and training--I don't think supplements would make much difference.

Pre workout supplements will help you get the desired muscle strength. Pre workout supplements that contain alpha amino acids slows down the oxidation process and that accelerates the flow of NO(Nitric Oxide) to all the body muscles and that helps them strengthen.

If you eat enough healthy and protein rich foods, you don't need supps. It's easy though, a quick whey before going to bed.

agreed, the first thing you should look at if you're not gaining the muscle mass you want is your dieting, then training, then if need be supps to help you get your recommended macros in.

Once you look into your diet and adjust accordingly, then you could start looking into such things as creatine, fish oils, mutli-vitamins, and pre-workouts.

Whey is a sure thing though, post workout and perhaps a casein protein or cottage cheese before bed.

just make sure your getting your diet checked!

I am a firm believer in the following: protein, creatine, multi vitamin. For extra energy I take a pre workout. I have post workout shake of whey, dextrose, and creatine. But all of my food comes from whole wheats and grains, tuna, chicken, turkey, vegetables, and cottage cheese. DRINK A TON OF WATER!
