Default Anger clouds the mind...

So i went through some shenanigans last night with an ex gf and it got out of control but I thought it was over with. I'm about to go to the gym today and she shows up again. Finally I tell her to leave and I go to the gym but couldnt stop thinking about it. Mentally I wasnt at the gym and was missing alot of my target reps etc. I hate quitting but should I have left at the point? At that point I just started getting frustrated and pretty soon mad and started lifting more than I should which also isnt good, could cause injusry etc. I hope that wont throw me off next time i lift but I think ill just do what I was supposed to do today. What do you guys do to handle mental distractions or whatever. I'm ususally pretty good at it but my worout really suffered today and now im pissed. Thanks fellas

I try and clear my head. Read over your workout a couple times and think about what weights your gonna do. Just try and get in the zone and leave all your personal shit in the locker room.

But if that doesn't work (usually doesn't haha)....Use that anger as motivation, get fired up and hit those reps with all you got.

Think to yourself....What's gonna beat me today, a stack of iron or a pair of tits?

If it distracts you, put it out of your mind, if it helps you, cultivate it. Thats how I deal with shit like that, but your right, you gotta keep your head about you, you dont want to make a stupid mistake cause your angry at some chick.

Take that agression and focus it on smashing fuckin wieghts man.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to hit this week with a full head of steam (after getting fucked up friday and missing half my meals saturday) and was frustrated. I hate feeling defeated in the gym. I should be good to go tomorrow.

Do your best to focus your frustrations and anger into your workouts as it can help provide a lot of motivation.
