Not to take this off topic, but does anybody have an idea of how to rig up a replacement for a T-bar row if your gym doesn't have one?

Wondering if anyone has come up with a clever alternative...

I grab a Barbell and load one end with plates and butt the other against a corner, then grab a butterfly handle from the cable row machine and lift the end of the barbell with that under it.

Since I've never been able to use this exercise, do you have a description of the proper form I need to lock in to execute the movement correctly?

Take the 45lb straight bar and stick it in a corner for support. Get the close grip handle that you would use for rows and hook it under the bar. Add weight as desired and straddle the bar and boom, you got a t-bar row.

Will you please oblige me with provision of the correct form for execution of this exercise?

(note to others here, X and I know one another well...he understands my asperity with his habit of not reading threads before posting)

Look, I know you do this exercise, X.

Is the form similar to an bent over barbell row?

The best grip? Mix it up (pronate and suppinate)?

It's not like a barbell row as you have the bar going across your chest.
You’re going to straddle the bar with the row handle around the front of the bar. You want to bend your knees slightly but keep rocked slightly back. You don’t want to be leaning forward. Grab the handle and bring the bar up to where the weight is coming into your chest area, that bar is between your legs. Grip is irrelevant to me on this lift, hold on tight.
Does that make any sense, if not I’m going to have to fly out and show you.
