Gender: | About a year or so ago MTV had this "bodybuilder" on that "had the perfect body" but hated his calves. He underwent plastic surgery and had calf implants. I remember that it didn't really look any different. All I could think of was how fuckin lame. I'm sure a few of you have seen this show. I don't know you just buy bigger muscles, you need to put in the time or go home. All this talk reminds me of the TLC episode with Greg Valentino. Everytime its on I can't help but watch. It's like a train wreck........ |

I work them out twice a week doing standing and seated calves but, they just don't seem to get any bigger. |

Gender: | my theory..... calfs are pure genectics . an as far as i think , calfs are alwys being used (waking)so there pre conditioned to extensive use . so ts hardto work on somthing that never gets rest , maybe try loking at trainin calves a different way . eg curcuit of say 60 . 20 seated straight to 20 standing with load, then 20 each leg ,single standing on a platform. try that mate. im not saying it will work for every one but it mite work for you. BTW . is it calfs or calves |

| Rank: Member Experience: 2-3 Years | DC methods have worked wonders on my calves. To do it, pick a weight (it may take a couple sessions to get a good judgement) you can do 15-20 times. Push the weight out and lower slowly, then hold in the stretched position for 15 seconds. Reapeat 15-20 times. It seems easy the firt few reps, but if you picked a good weight, wait until 8-12 reps and it burns. Then the last reps are absolutely brutal. Then next workout do more reps if you got on the low end of 15-20 or bump up the weight if you got 20+. |

What other muscle group do you train with 20-40 rep sets? With the exception of a widowmaker, 20 reps is pushing it for me, but it works due to the pause with the deep stretch between reps in DC methods. |
