Gender: | O.k. I'm on a big cut for atleast the next 3 months, currently doing aprx 20-25 min on bike for an average speed of 19-21mph. Will you burn more muscle w/ an intense cardio? would I burn more fat going maybe 30-40min at a slower speed? Or does it not really matter ![]() |

Gender: | Well, i all depends if your lifting weights on the same day. Its always good to do 20-30mins of cardio before lifting do to the fact of warming up. Just make sure your eating protein and watching your weight. Muscle weights a lot more than fat. The cardio your doing isn't a lot to burn muscle. |

Gender: | Dude, 20 to 30 minutes of cardio is WAY more than a warm up. Try 5 to 10 at least. Your warm-up is not supposed to eat up energy you need for lifting weights. Joker I don't think you will burn more muscle with an intense cardio. And you won't necessarily burn more fat with a long duration. I've posted tons of stuff on this both in the How to Cut sticky (only because some guy was spouting some weird stuff) and at the end of Sleazy's HIIT sticky just for reference. I would say mix it up. I'm more of a higher intensity cardio fan but it's hard to say how much of that when couple with the weight work could be too much. |

Gender: | I think the main thing is just to do what you ENJOY and can STICK to when it comes to cardio. There is alot of information saying HIIT may maximize your time better than light cardio, but alot of people have a hard time sticking to it for longer periods (me included). Target heart range can also play an important factor in maximizing your cardio for fat loss so it may be worth your time to read up on that. As long as your diet is in check and your not going crazy on the cardio, you shouldn't have much to worry about when it comes to muscle loss. Sipping on BCAA's etc through the cardio can also help prevent muscle catabolism if your really worried about it. In the end its all about calories in verses calories out. |

Gender: | I was always under the impression that you would burn more muscle going at a higher intensity. Maybe it's just one of those myths, but....Personally I walk on the treadmill for about 30 mins and that burns just over 300 cals. |

Gender: | I think Sleazy hit the nail on the head. Just stick to what you are comfortable with and can keep motivated. You will do very well on whatever cardio you work with and stick to. Keep it up!! ![]() |
