Default DFHT Question

I wasn't sure which set up to follow:

Week 1: DFHT Loading
Week 2: Deload
Weeks 3-5: DFHT Loading
Then deload

or

Skip the first deload and run DFHT straight for 2-3 weeks then deload

You would never load for 1 week and then deload. Your first week is a little lighter and a deload after that makes absolutely no sense. You would do the Loading for a period of 3-4 weeks and then a deload. Even after week 4 you may be able to continue on for another week of loading and then a deload. After your deload you can do another loading cycle. There is a pretty big writeup on all this in the training forum.

What's your current strength levels and experience?

Ah ok i wasn't sure if you had to get used to the volume first. Especially when i had just finished 2 SF 5x5 back to back.

Experience wise about 5 years mostly trial and error except for the past 2 years i got everything on track diet/training/focus etc... Mainly doing DFT 5x5 back to back with intensity phases also adding some HST in the mix. What do you mean strength levels exactly? (ex. How much weight for certain exercises)

You do use the first week to get used to the volume and its usually a write-off, weights aren't heavy enough usually. Its much better to undershoot the weights for the first week rather than get in over your head and have to lower the weights.

Maybe I'm confused but why would you do SF 5x5 (Intermediate 5x5 in case Eric is reading this ) and THEN the DF (Advanced) with HST sprinkled in there?

doesnt that complicate things and therefore create a shock and that will spur growth? haha

Are you talking about me getting confused or sporatic training? Because I think both definitely complicate the spur of growth

I think what i did was started with DFT 5x5...did the program twice to get more experience with it moved onto HST then back to DFT.
