| Rank: Bantamweight | Currently I'm doing a 5x5. I'd like to get some add'l work in for my hamstrings. Any thought on where I could add some SLDL's in the routine? Or even if I should? And if I do, I'm guessing it'd be of the 2x8 variety... The routine now: Day 1: Squats, bench (ss w/ claves), rows, accessory Day 2: Lite squats, DL, military press, chins, abs Day 3: Squats, incline (ss w/ calves), rows, accessory |

| Moderator Rank: Light Heavyweight Experience: 7-10 Years | I wouldn't bother with SLDL's. The only days really feasible are Days 1 and 3 since day 2 you're doing deadlifts and squats. However, adding SLDL's are a lot of additional stress on your lower back. If the deadlifting and squatting isn't helping, then I could maybe see adding some kind of leg curls on 1 or 3. If doing this program right, the JS rows should suck the life right out of you. It certainly does for me and most others. If you want to address lagging bodyparts, you're on the right track..2-3 sets of 8-10 will get the job done. For me, mine got worked hard on the rows, deads, and a2g squats. But, if there was still a problem, then I'd do something supplemental..Like curls, or maybe pullthroughs (stretching it)... |
