Default Freaky Experience During My Deadlifts Today

Alright I just got back from doing my back workout and had a pretty scary experience when doing my deadlifts. On my 4th set of 5 during my first lift I felt like someone came up behind me and punched me in the back of my head. I had to drop the weight letting it crash to the floor and literally had to hold onto the rack to prevent myself from passing out. And this pain lasted for a good two minutes or so with my head still pounding and me holding my head with my hands. The pain was like a really bad migrane at the base of my head lasting a good hour .

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this when doing lifts? I asked my buddy who there with me if I was leaning forward during it as that might have caused the blood to rush to my head, but he said I wasn't and that I just dropped it out of no where. I was going lighter today also.

Just a really scary experience at the gym that I felt like sharing

I was challenged once by some guy in the gym who said I couldn't squat 315 for 3 sets of 20. 1st set no problem, 2nd set a little more difficult. 3rd set pushing up #16 and something in my head popped. I continued and completed to 20 before collapsing on the floor for 20 minutes. Turned out I ruptured a vessel in my head and wasn't able to lift again for 2 weeks. I had major headaches for most of those 2 weeks. Anything I even tried to slightly lift put pressure on my head and was brutal. Not sure I actually learned my lesson but it was a experience I will never forget.

I think that is most likely what happened Dr X. I explained it to a medschool buddy and he says that it sounds like it could be a popped blood vessel, without me suggesting or mentioning blood vessels at all. Luckily I have a week off since I have to travel so I won't be putting any stress on it. It did come back real quick when I was moving stuff around today, so if it doesn't disappear by the time I'm back next week then I'll go see someone.

If you have ever watched the strongman competitions you'll see them pop alot of vessels when doing deadlifts and so forth. I remember distinctly that on the last one on TV Magnus got a nose bleed when doing his lift. Not saying I'm a strongman by any means, but its the only thing that makes sense at this point.

I have never felt like anyone punched the back of my head, to me it was as if someone punched the back of my lil neck. I had that pain for about a week, then it went away on its own one night. I feel really bad for the guy, damn he tore an expensive bikini.
