| Hi folks, I'm a 23 year old, 6'4, 185lb approx 15-20% bodyfat... Im pretty slim for hte most part however do need to trim in my stomach/pec area. I was working out 5-6days a week starting in Jan-June of this year however with a career move and moving I have not been to the gym since late June & have lost whatever results I had got. I am just wondering what is the quickest way for me to get back into things? Should I be pushing the weights, cardio? How often, anything I should be careful or do to get back into things quickly as possible? Im quite motivated and plan to get back to it tonight, any motivation, advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! |

Instead of trying to do spot trimming of your stomach and pecs (near impossible)...Why not bulk up with some muscle? Putting on muscle IMO would do just as good a job of proportioning that area as cutting would...and probably alot easier!! I'm assuming your goals are to be active and smoothen out your chest and abdominals...Like Hardgain said, we'll need more info about goals to steer you in the right direction ![]() | |

| Thanks for the replies guys... Essentially I'm just looking for a well proportioned body, something I am not too confident in right now. I definatly consider myself slim but yes the chest/pec/stomach areas have a bit of fat & arms/legs are pretty skinny. I had been going for about 6 months and was seeing some results but not sure if I was doing things as best as I could. Not sure if i should concentrate on eating lots, eating moderate 6x meals a day, getting as much protein as possible, you catch my drift. I find Im pretty knowledgable but if there is somethign i should concentrate on in order to get a toned/add muscle all around type of body this would be great. Ideally I can work out 4x a week at the gym and do not have any pre-existing medical conditions, sitting behind a desk and not much activity other than walking is about what excerise I've been getting lately. Gender: | I would take a look in the stickies and read about nutrition and how to bulk. After reading those you should be able to answer your own questions and then some! I'm not trying to be rude and just dodge your questions, but reading and learning will help you more in the long run than if I simply answer your questions directly. If you have more specific questions or need something clarified after you've read some stickies and whatnot, then myself or other members will be happy to answer them I'm sure. |
