Gender: | So i took a few days off and am looking to gain the quickest muscle possible in the next 5 weeks before I go down to vegas. I was thinking an hst cycle and i would just drop one day off the 15,10 5 etc to compensate for only having 5 weeks. Ex i do 15's mon/wed/fri this week and mon/wed next week, then switch to 10's on fri and do that for 5 days before switching to 5's. I didn't want to short change myself a whole week in the 5 rep range . What do you guys think i should do? And has anyone else who has ran hst been EXTREMELY hungry all day, no matter how much you eat?![]() I cant eat enough!?!?! Thanks again |

Gender: | So you have 5 weeks til Vegas... how much muscle do you think you'd be putting on in that time (assuming perfect adherence to both training and diet)? Because realistically, no matter what kind of hypertrophy specific training you do, 5 weeks time isn't going to amount to a massive change. Especially if you're trying to minimize your fat gains at the same time (if you are trying to do that... typically a Vegas va-ca means showing some skin ya know?). I'd say your best bet would be to stick with rep ranges that fall within the strength and hypertrophy ranges instead of trying to shorten the cycles of whichever hst program you're looking at. |

Gender: | ^^What she said. HST is a good program for hypertrophy and in one run you could put on maybe 10lbs. You won't get big and shredded off HST but you can put on some mass in a short timeframe. Personally I would do the HST because I know I can put on a decent amount of size with it. BUT I know I won't put on any fat. If your confident you won't put on any fat, then go for it. Otherwise your safest bet would be a 5x5 layout. You have to eat regardless but a 5x5 won't be as drastic in terms of gaining mass imo. |

Gender: | Yeah mass in short time frame is what im going for here...I'm doing running about a mile and a half twice a week...hopefully to keep some fat off but what fat I gain will probably be worth muscle i get from it. I'm only going down for a week this time but in november I'm going down for 5 weeks, so thats the most important time frame haha. I'll just do it and see what happens |

Gender: | IK and Kane are right on with their advice. 5 weeks is not a lot of time but you can definitely do everything you can to add the mass you want. You will be very hungry and that is normal...enjoy it while it lasts. Good luck ![]() |
