Default Jumping Rope

I have never done really any cardio before or after my workouts but now I think I should. I was considering jumping rope for about 10 or 15 instead of running. How many days a week should I do this? I am currently working out 5 days a week trying to gain weight.

You won't gain any weight jumping rope or running. You have got to be still in order to grow. Keep aerobics to a minimum just to keep your metabolism from slowing down.

If you bulking up then cardio 3 times a week is fine. I would either jog or do a bike. Nothing overly exerting. Jumping rope would be great for cutting. Don't do your cardio the same time as you lift if you can. Do it on your off days or opposite time of day as your lifting.

I've used the jump rope as a warm up as an alternative to the bike or treadmill. It's okay, I guess. I also keep the rope in my bag, becasue sometimes at the gym if I need to wait for a piece of equipment for a bit, I'll jump rope for a few minutes to keep warm and keep the heart rate up.
