Default massive abs

My body doesn’t have the genetics for a 6 pack and I can only get a 4 pack. Would getting my ab muscles huge give me a 6 pack? I have like 8% body fat right now and I can clearly see a 4pack and obliques. What should I do to get my abs massive? Right now I am doing a total 6 sets of around 15 reps (which is the most I can do) doing 3 different exercises. One for lower, one for upper, one for obliques. And I am doing that 5 times a week. Any suggestions?

How do you know that?

You're fucked because you're not genetically able to do it anyway (see above quote)

Weighted ab work. 5x10 3 times a week max.

What exercises are you doing? If you're doing 6 sets of 15 crunches, then you're abs are shitty, if its 6 sets of 15 decline situps with BW+100lbs then its a different story.

Any extra weight added?

Why 5 times a week?

How long have you been working on your abs?

I have been working my abs for 3 years. in the gym I do an ab machine that I can only do 15 reps of 3 times each time positioning my body in a different angle, then I do decline sit-ups with 45 lbs about 2x15 reps, then I do leg raises on the dip bar about 2x20 reps. when I don’t go to the gym I do about 3x50 sit-ups with a twist and about 3x20 reps with a roller. When I stand and flex naturally you can see my obliques well and my upper abb well. I don’t have the middle one.

It is possible to over train your abs....I've never seen it done, but they shouldn't be treated any different then any other muscle...

So your saying you have upper, lower and side (obliques) but not middle??....Without seeing pictures I would say that there is fat covering them, not that they don't exist.

TALO's Sig:"But when do you actually grow? Well, we don't grow in the gym. In the gym, we destroy. We tear down the body. We only grow when we are recovering. That's right, I said recovery. I see it all the time--people beating themselves up in the gym and not seeing results. They don't understand that hitting the weights hard is only a small part of growing or even cutting down. I could train the same all year round and get big or get ripped just by eating different and taking different supplements"

Is this still the case or do you have separate accounts?

I humbly request that no one deals with him until he answers this question because the neverending barrage of questions that never go anywhere is really getting on my nerves.

I don't have much different to say, the guys here had some good points.

Perhaps there is just a little fat not letting the details show through. This could be part of it. This in no way says you are fat.

Treat your abs like any other muscle, using weights. Kane mentioned 10 reps, and this is correct for abs. 10-12 reps is fine.

Try cutting back on training your abs to maybe once or twice a week and see what happens.
