Default Motivation Tips

Hello everyone
For the last few weeks my motivation has been apalling and because of this my training has suffered.
A month or so ago I was doing well I was in PR territory, I had a busy couple of weeks and didn't train.
Since then I have only been managing 1-2 training sessions a week, which is pitiful I should be doing 3.
I keep saying to myself "tommorow night im going to start training properly again"
When the time comes usually ive had a busy day on top of which ive had some usual boring problem or two to deal with,I come in from work, got the missus and daughter in my ear, im tired and the thought of going out to my damp, cold, weight room is to much and I end up not training.
Anyone got any tips or advice to get the fire burning again, to get the buzz back.
Anyone know any good motivational books/articles to read, videos to watch.
Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated

Cheers Jonson

I used to find the chapter in "High Intensity Training the Mike Mentzer Way" titled "How to develop a Seige Mentality" really helpful and inspiring. i also liked to watch Dorian's training vid for a boost, but nowadays it all comes from myself.

You just have to mentally train yourself to put all the other shit aside for an hour and get out there and get it done. It isnt always easy and i recently had a large dose of the same shit you're talking about and yup, it fucked my training, but you just have to get back on track, re-focus your mind on what you want to achieve and then do it.

or you could try internet porn

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....................Ross i was def getting ready to tell him to watch porn hahahahaha. just kidding though.

me personally i only need to motivate myself to run, other than that if i have access to a gym im in there.

im a big goof ball though so anything can motivate me. a pretty lady walking down the street, watching dragonball or reading an increadible hulk comic book, watching football. the point is there are a lot of different things that make me hype. so you may need to find some things that do the same thing for you. maybe music, or some type of videos.

when it boils down to it you have to go an do what you need to do, or you will always be stuck in the same spot.

try to participate in some type of competative sport. you will want to get batter at it so you will be forced to train. try and take up a fighting skill or something.

i know thats a lot of crap i just said but im just trying to throw some stuff out there for you

MONSTAFACE's Sig:in sports my will alone will get me from point A to B no matter what. in weight lifting i must understand that from A there is no B. the goal is constant progression and anything i do to hinder the continious straight line is counter productive. My will must be humbled and my humbleness must be willed

yes......i just type and press enter, i dont proofread i did enough of that in college. you know what i meant when i typed it anyway

^^ ah a dragonball fan, I gotta say it motivates me sometimes too, and the suggestions about music are spot on. Nothing like some loud ass fight songs to get you in the mood to smash wieghts.

and porn too.

lol hell yeah. even though they take like 3 episodes to power up. every time i watch one of them fights as it goes off im ready to do some push ups or something lol. especially the last episode of the cell saga. after i watch that i can jump out of my window or something lol.

but johson try that music thing though.go get yourself an ipod or cd player and play some music that gets you hype. i cant recommend anything because 9 times out of ten the music we listen to are completly different. but try to find something.

if all else fails just look at Iron Kitten's avatar lol...........................i love you IK lol

Thanks guys.

I sometimes watch BB vids on youtube before training, which can fire me up.
Funnily enough Riddick on Mike Mentzer I read the motivation bit in Heavy Duty the other week, very motivating. I also have Dorian Yates dvd some where might dig it out.
Will have to look more into the music thing.

Now internet porn, that motivates me to do something, but not to train
