Gender: | Ive been having this problem for a cple of weeks, but now its gotta pretty bad. Its a sharp pain on the underside of my left bicep. Its particularly bad when doing push movements (chest press etc.). Theres a lot of exercises I can still do where I dont get any pain.. but my chest workout today was pretty much non existant because of the pain I was getting. I was doing only half movements (the top part) but that stilled caused a lot of pain. What can I do to speed up the recovery? Should I be using ice as often as I can? Any good advices would be super. ![]() |

Gender: | As much as you don't want to hear this, the muscle is probably strained IMO and needs probably at least 10 days of upper body rest to be safe. You dont want to turn a strain to something worse. Once I felt all the pain was gone I'd work it lightly before I went back to heavy lifting. Thats how I'd go about it. If it doesn't improve or gets worse youll be needing more time off. ![]() |

Gender: | Using ice is probably your best option. When using remember to only ice for 15min or less. Let the skin warm back up completely before applying again. Using it longer than 15min can cause the vessels to open instead of constricting and the results will not be as good. I would keep movement in the arm with out resistance. Remember everybody heals differently so take your time and heal. Try not to rush things. I had to learn that the hard way. |
