Gender: | Yeah thats something that often gets overlooked when people start lifting is learning the right form to begin with. I've never had to many friends that lifted so i was in the dark a few years ago. If at all possible, find a buddy whos been lifting for awhile and take him to the gym with you to, #1 make sure your doing the lifts correctly, #2 be there to spot you, and #3 answer any questions you might have. Or just ask someone at the gym for some quick help. Most guys that arent asses will be more than happy to lend you a hand when they get a chance. Good luck |

Gender: | It's good to be back Eric. Had to take care of some family stuff for awhile so I didn't have much of a chance to chime in. I wonder if he does have a partner to help him out or (God forbid) he relies mainly on muscle mags to get him through. |

I would ask a trainer to check out your form and maybe make a suggestion or two.. Most of them will at least do that much for you. If you are doing the Starting Strength program, form is very key because you are doing lifts where bad form can result in serious injury, especially as you progress in weight. If you can, take some video of yourself and post it up. Most people here would be glad to critique it for ya. | |
