Absolutely and this is coming from a smoker of 50+ years. There is an element that is needed for maximum workouts and muscle growth called oxygen. This minor element is cut short by smoking. Yes smoking can help keep fat down but it also do to a lack of oxygen cuts down on strength, endurance and puts toxins into the body that can be pumped into the muscle inhibiting growth.

There are ways to off set some of the negatives but the best choice is never start smoking followed by stop smoking.

^^ lets not forget that smoking isnt the only way to get nicotine in to your system. I agree that smoking anything really is not good for your cardiovascular health ...

That being said, I cant agree with this

cannabis is worse in my opinion, for building muscle atleast
from my extensive experience with cannabis and working out, it seems to me you build less muscle as opposed to nicotine
simply because you cant lift as much
even a couple days after
but oh i know what you mean by cigarettes and the stress of work..
I know you were not stating fact, just how you feel. But I've honestly had times where I've hit PR's while smoking regularly, not to mention it is amazing for bulking, you can eat all the cals you want. But again, smoking is not good, I'd suggest baking/cooking with it if you intend to use it at all.
