Gender: | I get shin splints, if you don’t get them then I can’t describe the pain, if you do get them I needn't bother. Anyway I found that running on a treadmill that has elevation adjustment and setting the deck to a high elevation it helps in preventing shin splints. The foot doesn’t have to pivot forward as much. Also good stretching exercises helps too. -Hope this helps. Pete. |

| Rank: Lightweight | you can also make your shins stronger which can help avoid them. sit in a chair and leave your foot on the ground and tap the front of your foot on the ground. after a little bit you will start to feel your shins working. do that often and that wil lmake and keep your shins strong |

| I am trying this as I speak (well, type), and I can feel it!! Good sug., Monsta! Also, I'm not sure, but it may help to stretch them immediately after running. Also, I'd try running on a treadmill-it absorbs a lot of the impact imparted on your legs, helping to avoid splints all together. Or, you could try doing exercises that work the tibialis anterior- the muscle on the front of the leg. I hope it helps. |
