Default squat VS deadlift

what benefits, if any do squats have over deadlift asuming someone only does one of the lifts with perfect form. ie: i hate squats, all the pressure on my shoulders. however i love deadlift becasue of the amount of weight i can push compared to many of the people around me.

Gday HS,

Have you tried the Low Bar Squat?, this takes the weight off your shoulders and makes it safer to handle heavy weights. In a deep Squat the Hamstrings are fully stretched, so the leg muscles work over a full range of motion. Deadlifts are far more taxing on the body because of the greater weights one can use. I know with my program I wouldnt do more than 1 heavy set of Deadlifts per week.
