LOL, when I was that age I would gain muscle just touching a weight. Everybody's different. Just concentrate on realizing your genetic potential and don't get preoccupied with how far it will allow you to go. As a beginner any rep range you do will pretty much guarantee an increase in your 6 rep, 5 rep, 3 rep or 1RM. That doesn't mean everyone should go to 10-12 reps on a split to focus on mass. If you are talking about the differnce between sitting on your butt and lifting a weight, of course the weights are going to make you stronger at that stage of the game. There are more effecient ways to gain strength and mass and the closer you come to your genetic potential in terms of stregth, which, for most people will mean a lot more mass, the better results you will get from those splits which are simply more appropriate for the very advanced as 0311 pointed out. And even then they may not be the best choice. Skipping around to different styles of training programs with different goals is spinning your wheels. Last edited by EricT; 01-21-2007 at 01:22 PM. | |
